Early Years
Born in Mexico City in 1941, Ana encountered the arts early in life. As a child, she studied ballet and piano at the National Conservatory of Music, where an enduring artistic curiosity began to take shape. After raising her children, Ana returned to creative practice through glasswork, maintaining an active studio for several years before gradually turning to painting and sculpture—disciplines that would become increasingly central to her work.
Painting
Ana develops a pictorial language in which abstraction and figuration remain in deliberate tension. Through layered surfaces, chromatic intensity, and a measured use of line, her paintings transform familiar motifs—figures, flowers, fruit and landscape—into spaces of memory, sensation and contemplation. Each work holds the trace of a process: a dialogue between gesture and structure, opacity and light.
